SCHOOL PROGRAM                    

The school program "Equal Billing" presentation, is designed to raise the issue of disability awareness, from a historical, medical, and social perspective, catering to an audience of children aged from 6 to 8 with the format of  the presentation in a clearly understood, informative and entertaining format.

The presentation will look closely at the early forms of transporting the infirm, from 3rd Century China through to contemporary societies transporting of the mobility challenged, this will be in a format of images, and a brief verbal overview of the image to ensure interest and attention is maintained by the children.

The presentation will briefly  cover other types of disabilities such as hearing, visual and intellectual; this will be presented with images and the international symbols of the different disabilities. A basic overview of genetics is included, explaining the nature of the X and Y chromosome in determining gender. This is explained by an image that shows a flowchart of the chromosomal structure in the genetic makeup attributing to Muscular Dystrophy, 

The presentation will then explore well known people with disabilities from all elements of society from musicians (Beethoven) to Actors (Superman Christopher Reeve) Physicist (Stephen Hawking), politicians (Roosevelt) authors (Alan Marshall) and other notable figures through time. The format again will be with images and, this time with music also. 

To conclude with a video presentation l produced (below), with the focus on can-ability, ditching the DIS. With it's up beat music to finish the presentation on a bright note. 

The presentation runs for approximately 30 minutes.
